Program note
The principal ideas of this work are derived from the characteristic temporal scale and typical formal aspects of the bagatelle. The reduction of a series of elements serves as an important criterion for unifying the creation of sonic materials within an organised system of management, the selection of processes, and the consequential choices arising from their interactive conditions, negotiated through the modularity of the designed relationships and conditions. A very short gesture feeds the input and activates particular processes at specific moments. The input signal consists primarily of two contrasting types of sound, either a very fast and sharp attack and/or a resonant tail. Each input signal is added to what has already entered the system, creating a condition in which sonic materials can accumulate through a managed recursive process of choosing or discarding the current signal within a feedback loop. Their instantaneous processing contributes to the construction of sound objects with distinct morphological and kinematic features.
